Inserting Videos

Postby indigo196 » Sat Nov 10, 2012 2:16 pm

Curious what one needs to do to have videos show up...

viewtopic.php?f=10&t=974

The videos are showing as links, not embeded videos.

Thanks.

You need to use the tools above the text area. The farther one on the right on the last bar is for inserting videos. Then a section pops up to allow you to input the video address. Its pretty straightforward, but if you are still having problems I can give you more detailed instructions.

I used the tools... that is why I was asking... it seemed odd that it was just posting the links instead of the video.

Hey, indigo.
To post a video, click on the Image icon in the toolbox. This will bring up the "Insert web video" panel. Enter the url of the video you want to post into the "Enter a link for BBvideo" field, and then click "Insert into message." It's probably that last step that you're missing.

Ellsworth:

Yes, I did all of that. I also looked at the generated BB code and it looked correct, but the videos just showed as links.

I see why they aren't working. You put in "https" instead of "http".

There are some youtube videos that can't be viewed with a mobile device because "The owner of this video does not allow mobile viewing." I wonder if that has something to do with it.

The iframe embed code they gives you includes the 's' and I presume that works (I don't know if they'd switched to https the last time I was using iframes), so I guess it's the BBCode not tolerating it.
