A thread for miscellaneous photos would be cool, no? Post anything you like. Larger images will be re-sized to fit inside your post.

I spend a fair amount of time on the National Geographic website, and the photos always blow me away. This photo was no exception. "At Litlanesfoss (Iceland), the waterfall cross-sections an ancient lava flow, which formed columns as it cooled."

More Iceland photos.

It looks a bit like the Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland. I was fortunate enough to see that in person when I was single & traveled a bit and it was aw-inspiring.
After seeing and hearing about the amazing rigs that many people have on these forums; it seems rather silly for me to the specs of my very modest gaming PC. It works and that's good enough for me.

I bet! I'd love to visit Ireland. Tell the truth.. You were either hung over, drunk, or on your way to being drunk when you saw Giant's Causeway, weren't ya? :P

Same rock formation caused by volcanic eruption. Giant's Causeway...

Time-lapse image of Jupiter from Voyager 1's approach in 1979. For those who don't know, the "Great Red Spot" (even in a black and white image) is a storm that has been brewing at least a couple hundred years. Oh, and you could fit two or three Earths inside that one storm.

Chichen Itza. I visited that very temple in 1998.

Image

I can't remember what this is called exactly but this is near Tulum, Mexico. I saw that in 1998 as well. I believe our Mexican bus driver was drunk on the way back to Puerto Vallarta that day.

*Disclaimer* Those are stock photos I found on the net. The ones I took were taken with a 35MM camera and have not been digitized yet.

Chichen Itza is deceptive. You look at it and think "That'll be easy as hell to climb". Half way up you're ready for someone to just end your misery. Those steps are steep and crazy huge!

So if you go back to Amsterdam if we can't reach you through telephone just ask around in the red light district? :D

Also, I really do miss Sevilla. I was there over 12 years ago and I really want to go back to Spain.

The European Southern Observatory (ESO) is celebrating their 50th Anniversary! Celebrate with them by spending some time browsing through their Top 100 photos...

Or if you enjoy having hard copies, they just released a new Coffee Table Picture Book "Europe to the Stars".

Damn it, Vandy. After I saw that pic you posted I searched Google images for "honey nut cheerios family size weird" and saw that photo which linked me to the guy in the photo's Tumblr page. Evidently, he's a wanna-be stand-up comedian, so I watched a video of one of his performances and it was really, really bad. All accounted for, that was about ten minutes of my time that would have been better spent repeatedly shoving a fork into my eye. Thanks, man.
